A Stimulating & Creative Environment

The Hanna Fenichel Center was founded in 1975 by the Psychoanalytic Society and Institute and was originally located in La Jolla. Since then, the Center has resided on several different sites in Del Mar. In July of 2001, The Center purchased it's current property (previously The Learning Tree) in Solana Beach. During the Summer of 2007, the center under went a major remodel and upgrade.  The newly designed entry and building inspires us to provide a stimulating, interesting & playful learning environment for our children.

We are constantly looking for ways to enhance the experiences for the children and continue to add creative areas inside and out to learn and play. Inside, the teachers optimize their space to satisfy the needs of the specific children in each class. Outside, our organic sand boxes are surrounded by a dragon's tail made of colored concrete and stones, with a mosaic seascape backdrop. The garden gives our children an opportunity to see and enjoy nature up close.

The 5-Day graduating class of 2003 actually helped build their own 1000 pound jeweled dinosaur. This dynamic dino is now a permanent part of our playground. Our colorful TotTurf playground surface makes rolling and climbing fun and safe. We strive to maintain a stimulating and engaging environment.
