For the past 20 years, I have had the honor and the privilege to work alongside children and their families. Supporting children in how they discover and uncover their world has always filled my heart. Children’s imagination, curiosity, intellect, passion for life, unbridled creativity and raw emotions are what inspire me to forever and always be their advocate.

After graduating from college with a BA in psychology, I knew I wanted to work with very young children; but, I wasn’t sure in what capacity. After moving to NYC to be a nanny, I transitioned into the world of high-end fashion and beauty PR. This career move helped me to realize that my true passions are education and the sharing in everyday experiences with children. I decided to pursue a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. During my master’s work, I taught prekindergarten and found a new appreciation for how young minds solve problems, share ideas, build theories and thrive when supported by educators who listen and create a responsive curriculum based on the children’s curiosities.

After nine enlightening years in New York City, my husband, Rick, and I decided we were California dreaming. I began teaching at The Gillispie School in La Jolla. The eleven years I spent there brought me joy and many opportunities to grow. I taught two and three year olds in a full day program, founded the Parent-Toddler Exploration Program, was the Admissions Director for Toddler-Kindergarten, and Director of Early Childhood Education.

In my second year at Hanna, I am incredibly grateful to be part of a community that always puts children first! My promise is that at Hanna all children are viewed as intelligent, capable, creative and strong; and, that your children are welcomed each day to share their unique gift that is who they are. We rejoice in children’s differences and celebrate all emotions as a way in which we learn.

Thank you for sharing your child with us!
