To Support, Develop, Encourage and Create

The goal of The Hanna Fenichel Center for Child Development is the total support of the emotional, physical, cognitive, and social growth of the children. Beginning with the first moment of separation and experience in the world outside of home, the school attempts to provide a secure child-centered environment to foster self-confidence and self-esteem. In addition the Center strives to:

  • provide individual learning experiences appropriate to each child’s maturity level;
  • support the rewarding and demanding process of parenting and establish close communication between home and school;
  • develop the child’s ability to initiate and sustain relationships with other children and adults;
  • encourage independent action, thought, and understanding of feelings and behavior;
  • increase the child’s feelings of mastery through the presentation of creative, success-oriented activities; and,
  • experience meaning and enjoyment in life through relationships with others.

We believe the above goals can best be attained in small classes with a high teacher-to-child ratio. We feel that it is this feature that distinguishes The Hanna Fenichel Center for Child Development from all other nursery schools.
