My name is Francie Montgomery and I have been an early childhood educator for over thirty years. I have spent the last seven years at Hanna Fenichel where I have been allowed to fulfill my dreams of being an outdoor teacher in a beautiful classroom that is situated under an amazing Brazilian pepper tree. I have a B.S. in Human Development with an emphasis in early childhood education from Pacific Oaks College.
I was attracted to Hanna Fenichel for the progressive, child-initiated curriculum reflecting the Reggio Emilia approach. I discovered this philosophy over fifteen years ago and have since been on an incredible journey where I have partnered with children to expand their learning environment.
My husband, Bill, and I live between Old Town and Downtown. We have two children, Jonathan and Katie, who both live in New England. Jonathan lives with his wife and two kids in New Hampshire. Katie, Adam, and baby Benjamin (born in May 2016) live near Boston. We also have our "fur kids." Dougal is an eleven year old bearded collie and Penelope and Nikki are our kittens. Bill and I enjoy camping in our pop-up trailer, snowshoeing, hiking, attending the theater and traveling. We especially love visiting our kids and grandkids in New England. I spend most of my free time doing mixed media art or reading.
