5 Day Rm 4

I was born and educated in Stockholm, Sweden. In my youth I worked in the fashion industry and also (and more importantly) in the Swedish early childhood education school system. This is a benefit provided by the Swedish social welfare authorities for working parents (and considered among the world’s best)!

I emigrated to the United States in 1977 and have called San Diego North County home ever since. I worked in retail management before returning to my first love of early childhood education. I earned my preschool teacher credential at Mira Costa College and have been with the Hanna Fenichel Center since 2002. I’m proud to be a member of the faculty and to have the opportunity to work alongside my four and five year old children. I am inspired by the way in which children wonder about the world. With their feet in reality and their heads and arms reaching to fantasy, our children's experiential discoveries show remarkable passion for life.

I live in Encinitas with my husband of thirty-eight years, James Cravens. We have two daughters, Angela and Marie. Both are graduates of the University of California and reside on the East Coast - New York City and Boston, respectively. I have one granddaughter whose name is Indira. She is the apple of my eye!
